The Old Cannery Railroad

Dave Crossman the original engineer of The Old Cannery railroadThe Old Cannery railroad boast being the largest west of the Mississippi. The "G" gauge railroad contains four separate loops and totals over a quarter mile of solid brass track that winds around 2 showrooms and even makes a trip into the warehouse.

The four trains that make their journeys through the store include atrain_2 antique three engine diesel train, consisting of 2 Santa Fe FA-1 Warbonnet's and a FB-1 engine pulling 12 very sleek shiny and  beautifully detailed aluminum passenger cars. This vintage train was in service from the 1950's thru the 1970's. All Aboard!

The second train is a The Old Cannery Trainsmodern Union Pacific container train with a number of  hoppers that are just like the ones that pass right next door to the Old Cannery every day. This awesome train is over 40 feet long and is pulled by 3 powerful SD-45 diesel locomotives.

Next check out the Mikado 2-8-2 Steam Locomotive as it winds its way around the warehouse and store. This is a G scale reproduction of the more than 1000 trains that were put into service in the USThe Old Cannery G scale over head trains between the first and second World War. Our train is pulling 17 box cars and tank cars, some of the these cars are exact replicas of the originals and some are just for fun.

The Old Cannery TrainsLast but certainly not least is the historic Old Santa Fe 2-6-0 Steamer that chugs its way along track that circles our front counter and passes by a painted mural of the local area. It pulls passenger cars of such detail that you can see the passengers relax with their coffee's as they pass above.

The best way to view the Old Cannery Railroad is up close and personal on our viewing platform. It is designed for young and old "kids" and offers a great view of the layout.

Stop by the Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse and enjoy the trains as well as our great furniture bargains, and above all Have Fun!
