Trading Spaces Comes to
 The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse!!

The Learning Channel's highly popular Cable Show " Trading Spaces"  came to Sumner to tape a show for the 2004-2005 season. The film crew spent a day in and about The Old Cannery as both teams purchased furniture from The Old Cannery to be placed in the others home .  The show  aired on The Learning Channel  and has been repeated several times.

The teams were not allowed to be in the store at the same time or to be told what the other one had purchased.  I was told by one of the production crew that it is all hush hush till theEdward Walker discusses strategy with his team show is aired. The designers were busy helping the contestants pick from ten acres of furniture and accessories and having to shop  within a budget of $1000.00 for each team.

The first team (in blue) with designer Edward Walker, spent their budget in one particular area and were thrilled with the amount of furniture they were able to purchase for their $1000.00.

The second team (in red) with designer Christi Proctor , were fascinated by the great selection and variety  of furniture that is available under one roof.  Christy even noted that the Old Cannery, "doesn't smell like fish".  Mark Lucas, one of our veteran sales people, who was helping the teams with their selections was quick to let her know that the Cannery was a cannery for local fruit and vegetables and was never a fish cannery.  More about the history of The Old Cannery can be found  in our web site.

The excitement of national broadcast coverage and having both teams show up at our door to find the best selection and pricing in home furnishing is a feather in our cap and one that we will not soon forget.  As thousands of Puget Sound residents have discovered over the years, when you need great furniture at great prices,  The Old Cannery is a destination that is well worth the drive.
